Why This Directory Exists
Search "tow truck near me" in Nevada and you'll get a mix of real local companies, lead-generation sites that resell your info to the highest bidder, and listings for businesses that don't actually operate where they claim to. When you're stranded on the side of the road, that's the worst possible time to be guessing which one is legitimate.
Nevada Tow Connect exists to cut through that. We built it around one core idea: every company listed here should be checkable, not just claimed.
How We Verify Listings
Nevada regulates towing through the Nevada Transportation Authority (NTA), which issues Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) to legitimate tow car operators under NRS Chapter 706. Before a company appears here, we cross-reference it against the NTA's public carrier registry to confirm it holds an active certificate.
Each verified listing displays its NV Permit Number so you can independently confirm it yourself using the NTA's public Active Certificates database or the full Tariffs & Certificates registry.
We also flag anything worth a second look — a certificate under regulatory review, a phone number that doesn't match the NTA filing, or a company we simply couldn't confirm. We'd rather tell you what we don't know than quietly leave it out.
A Note on Marine & On-Water Towing
Listings tagged "On-Water Service" — for example, towing a disabled boat on Lake Mead — are a different kind of service entirely. Road-based tow trucks (including ones that haul boats on trailers) fall under NTA regulation like everything else on this site. But towing a boat on the water isn't regulated by the NTA at all; it typically operates through membership-based networks like BoatUS instead. These listings won't show an NV Permit Number because that standard doesn't apply to them — they're verified against their network affiliation instead, and we say so directly on the listing.
